Meet Your Candidate
Hey, I'm Jodi
Hi, I’m Jodi Lewis, and I’m running for Georgia State House in District 118 because our community deserves leadership that is present, prepared, and committed to working families—not politics as usual.
I’m a Newton County homeowner, a mother, and a small business owner since 2012. I built my career by solving real problems for real people—helping organizations grow, leading strategy, and delivering outcomes. Now, I’m bringing that same results-driven approach to the State House—focused on what families in District 118 are living every day: cost of living pressures, school and youth outcomes, public safety, and healthcare.
My partner, Edwin lewis and I share three daughters : Samira (25), Ameina (21), and Amilya (17). Family is my “why,” and this campaign is about making District 118 a place where families can thrive—financially, safely, and with opportunity.
My Work
Advocacy That Delivers
My work has always centered on standing up for the everyday person—especially when the system feels unreachable.
I’ve helped lead efforts tied to tenant safety and accountability, including advocacy work that supported law changes in Florida, Nevada, and Virginia resulting in the establishment of Miya’s Law, and the foundation of the Miya Marcano Foundation.
Why I'm Running
Four Core Priorities for District 118
Lower Cost of Living
Families are feeling squeezed—groceries, gas, housing, and everyday essentials. I’ll fight for practical, kitchen-table solutions that help working people keep more of what they earn and stay rooted in the communities they’ve built.
Improve Schools & Youth Outcomes
Our children deserve strong schools, safe environments, and real pathways to opportunity. I’ll advocate for resources that support student achievement, mental health, workforce readiness, and accountability—so every child can thrive.
Strengthen Public Safety
Public safety means prevention, smart policy, and accountability. I support strategies that reduce crime, strengthen community trust, and ensure families feel safe at home, at school, and in our neighborhoods—without sacrificing rights or dignity.
Protect Healthcare Access
No family should have to choose between getting care and paying bills. I’ll fight for accessible, affordable healthcare—prioritizing preventive care, mental health support, and policies that keep costs down for families and seniors.
